Reconstruction of upper and lower Wacker Drive from Randolph Street to Congress Highway – The project involved a new ventilation system, with a fiber optic interconnect system for lower Wacker Drive, fiber optic emergency communication systems, fiber optic interconnect system for 7 traffic intersections, traffic signals and lighting, for the upper and lower roadway, new electrical feeds to the bridges (and removal from CTA DC power source) along the project roadway, new DC power feeds from CTA Franklin substation to the Blue Line subway, and new AC power feeds for the CTA Franklin pumping station.

The project also included a new IDOT pumping station to replace the existing one that was going to be demolished. Responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of the electrical, construction, and required field modifications.

Responsibilities included overseeing the integration of the electrical systems into the overall project construction, constructability reviews of the project while in design, estimating and integrating the design changes into the overall design of the project, while keeping the change orders to a minimum, and while not affecting the project schedule.

Oren Skidelsky was part of the project management for the entire project (TranSystems) and the Burns & McDonnell team for one of the project segments.
